China: International law firm Weil Gotshal Advises on the Sale of Sedrin Brewery
Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, the international law firm, has advised Sedrin Group Co., Ltd. and other shareholders in relation to the sale of 100 percent shares of Sedrin Brewery Co., Ltd., one of China's largest breweries, to InBev NV, for US $740 million cash. The definitive documents for the transaction were signed on January 25.
The Weil Gotshal team was led by partner Steven Xiang assisted by associates Robert Xia and Frank Fan in Weil Gotshal's Shanghai office.
Steven Xiang commented, "This has been the largest brewery transaction in China. We are delighted to have this opportunity to work on one of the largest cross border transactions relating to the sale of a Chinese company in recent years."
